K-Beauty Battle #8 : Innisfree Eye Products

I never paid much attention to eye products before.

But two years ago, I grew more conscious of my frequently swollen and highly noticeable panda eyes. This year, I've started getting into anti-ageing eye creams, so that wrinkles don't stand a chance against me in the future. Yes, I'm only turning twenty, but I believe in starting early #PreventionIsKey.

Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream
Innisfree claims that their Orchid Skincare Series is packed with antioxidants that reverse the damage caused by the sun and pollutants. The Orchid Eye Cream is targeted for anti-aging, which claims to reduce wrinkles, improve skin tone and increase elasticity.

Innisfree Green Tea Seed Eye and Face Cream
The Green Tea Series from Innisfree is one of their skincare lines targeted towards hydrating the skin. The Green Tea Seed Eye Cream is for those with dry skin around their eye area.

It is enriched with amino acids, seed oil and a Dual-Moisture-Rising-TechnologyTM that protects the moisture barrier on the skin. But, do note that even though I use this only for the area around my eyes, it can also be applied to other areas of the face. I just don't really find myself applying it on other areas around my face.

Innisfree Pomegranate Revitalizing Eye Serum
Interestingly enough, this eye serum is not available on the Innisfree website. I could only find information about it on the Innisfree mobile app.

This eye serum is meant to treat the five signs of anti-aging and keep the skin around the eyes healthy and vibrant. It claims to be light and its gel-like texture helps to firm up dull skin around the eye area. I don't recall using any product with pomegranate as its main ingredient, but apparently, pomegranate is great for achieving healthy and vibrant skin.

Comparisons

Applicators:

The Orchid Eye Cream comes in a normal container. There's no applicator given so you do have to use your finger to scoop out the product. In terms of hygiene, this would rank the lowest out of the three.

The Green Tea Seed Eye Cream has a version that comes in the same type of container, but I got the rollerball version. It feels really nice to apply especially when the metal rollerball is really cold. I usually just pump once and apply the product to the area under my eyes. Typically, I don't feel that rollerballs are very hygienic. Think about it: the bacteria on your face gets rolled into the rest of the product. Am I overthinking or is this a valid concern? But, anyway, I've always thought that rollerballs are not really hygienic.

Unlike the other two, the Pomegranate Eye Serum comes with a pump dispenser. This is the most hygienic out of all three. Just like the Green Tea Seed Eye Cream, one pump is enough for me, but more product does come out in one pump as compared to the Green Tea Seed Eye Cream.

Texture:

Out of all three, the heaviest eye cream to me is the Orchid Eye Cream. It is definitely thicker and does not spread that easily. Once applied, it feels like it's there and it's the slowest to absorb into my skin.

The most hydrating one to me is the Green Tea Seed Eye Cream. It applies really smoothly and I love the cold sensation of the rollerball. The Green Tea Seed Eye Cream feels the lightest to me out of the three.

For the Pomegranate Eye Serum, it seems to be in the middle for me. It's almost similar to the Green Tea eye cream because of its consistency.

Scent:
The Orchid Eye Cream and Green Tea Seed Eye Cream smell similar to other products in their range. I've always felt that the Green Tea Series from Innisfree always had this super strong scent.

The Pomegranate Eye Serum has a more subtle scent compared to the other two.

Price:
I've always thought that eye creams are actually quite pricey lol. In fact, Innisfree's most expensive eye cream is $70 and I'm always like NAHH.

The most expensive one out of the three is the Green Tea Seed Eye Cream. For 10ml, it costs $29, so essentially, for every 1ml, it costs $2.90. Yea, maths, boom. But for the Green Tea Seed eye cream that comes in the normal bottle, it costs $34 for 30ml. I really have no clue if these two are the same and whether the only difference is the packaging.

The Orchid Eye Cream costs $43 for a 30ml and the Pomegranate Eye Serum costs $39 for 30ml. Innisfree usually has sales on a specific skincare series, so you can decide to get them when they are having a sale.

Prices I've stated are in SGD btw.

Overall:
The Orchid Eye Cream, in my opinion, is more suitable for older skin. Currently, for someone like me in my last few months of being a teen, I feel that this eye cream is too heavy for my skin, to the point where I often feel it sitting on my skin even if 15 minutes have passed. For anti-ageing, I would prefer the Pomegranate Eye Serum at the moment.

For me, the Green Tea Seed Eye Cream and the Pomegranate Eye Serum are on par. It just really depends on whether you're looking for some anti-ageing properties because I think that the Pomegranate Eye Serum is also quite hydrating.

If you're intending to bring around an eye cream when you're out or traveling, the Green Tea Seed Eye Cream is the most portable because it has the smallest packaging.

The Green Tea Seed Eye and Face Cream is also good for morning use since it does feel the lightest. I would recommend using the Orchid Eye Cream or the Pomegranate Eye Serum at night.
