Double Cleansing: How I Remove My Makeup
After my exams ended (yay), I've been going out more often, which means I'm wearing makeup frequently. So, I thought I'd share my routine for removing my makeup, which I have been doing the past few months.

I believe in double cleansing because there's always makeup that doesn't get removed fully. Sometimes, I'd even triple cleanse just in case, especially on days I'm wearing a lot of makeup.
Initially, I didn't really know much about double cleansing. That was until I found out about the 10-Step Korean Skincare Routine (which btw, has really helped me improve my skin a lot).
I don't necessarily follow a 10 step Korean Skincare Routine now, but I make sure I still stick to double cleansing whenever I want to remove my makeup. For those that are new to double cleansing, this article from Soko Glam might help you: https://theklog.co/double-cleanse-tutorial.
Currently, I'm using the Heimish All Clean Balm Cleanser, which is an oil-based cleanser. I really like using oil-based cleansers when I need to remove waterproof makeup, like my mascaras.
This removes my eye makeup well enough, and requires lesser effort than water-based cleansers, especially removing waterproof mascara. I always like how it looks like my makeup is melting off, even though it's not a very pretty sight LOL.
I will massage the product on my skin, and focus mostly on my eyes, followed by eyebrows and then the rest of my face.
It does not sting my eyes unlike other oil cleansers that I have used, but it feels like there is a white film in my eyes. I appreciate the spatula that Heimish has provided, because of hygiene. But, there was one time, my sister opened it and she asked "what is this?" and she just dug her finger into it *screams*.
For facial cleanser, I am currently using the Cosrx Low pH Good Morning Cleanser.
Honestly, it is not my favourite cleanser because I break out from using it.
I know that a lot of people rave about this cleanser, but I don't feel like it works well for me. It feels drying for my skin, and I just tend to break out from using this, which sucks because I really had high hopes for this cleanser.
I don't have dry skin, so for people who do have dry skin, I do not recommend this cleanser. Not really sure if I should just stop using this, but I don't want to waste my money lol. On days that I decide not to use this, I opt for the iUNIK Centella Cleanser instead, which is much more gentle and hydrating on my skin.
I use it together with the Medicube Pore Brush. Usually, I squeeze out a bit onto the pore brush and I start rubbing it gently onto my face. Honestly, it's so satisfying to see makeup being removed with the brush. It definitely helps me to remove makeup in areas that I have missed.
Don't be lazy when it comes to removing your makeup. Your skin will thank you later.
