Best of 2017: Makeup | Take My Money

This is part two of my 2017 favourites list and it's all about my favourite makeup this year. Like I've mentioned in my first favourites list on Skincare, these products were not necessarily released in 2017, but they were the products I only discovered in 2017 and I really liked. So here's the list:

1. The Face Shop Trolls Mono Pop Eyes Eyeshadow Palette (Sweet Cupcake)

I once did a comparison between the Etude House Play Color Eyes Palette (Cherry Blossom) and the Face Shop Trolls Eyeshadow Palette, and the emerging winner between the two was the Face Shop Palette.  Both palettes had similar shades, but the Face Shop Palette only had 8 while Etude House had 10.

The Face Shop Mono Pop Eyes palette won because it was so much more pigmented compared to the Etude House Palette.Even with a primer, the Face Shop eyeshadow palette became comparatively more pigmented than the Etude House eyeshadow palette.

2. Milani Baked Blushes and Baked Eyeshadow

I really like the shades of all the products I got because the shades are honestly very pretty.  The blushes I have are in the shade Dolce Pink and Rose D' Oro, while the eyeshadow is in the shade Baked Champagne. Both the blushes and eyeshadow worked really well for me and I usually use my finger to apply because a brush doesn't give me the pigmentation that I like. The shades are honestly gorgeous when swatched. I'm really sad that Milani does not do shipping to Singapore but hopefully they will soon.

3. Innisfree Skinny Long Long cara

I really like this mascara because it feels really lightweight and natural when applied, unlike mascaras that are really thick and may clump up. It lasts quite long and it doesn't run. It doesn't state that it is waterproof, because there's another mascara from the same skinny mascara line, but for me, I do feel like this mascara is waterproof. I've worn it during times that I cried and I was always scared I would end up having my makeup ruined, but it doesn't run.

It is buildable and even after several coats, it still gives my eyelashes a very natural look, yet my lashes look longer.

4. Clio Kill Brow Tinted Pen

I really like this Tinted Pen when drawing my brows because it's so easy to use and it's so easy to define the edges. The product is shaped like a marker, so the tip of the product is quite sharp and does not lose its shape.

The shade 01 Earth Brown is a very natural grey shade and it really suits my natural eyebrow color.

5. Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Powder

This Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Powder has been quite a savior for me. When I apply certain products like sunscreen, I do have an oily look afterward. I would apply this and immediately I see a difference. The results do last and it is definitely effective.

It has a mint smell because it claims to contain Jeju natural mineral and natural mint ingredients that control oil and moisture. It costs SGD$10, which is quite affordable, which is why I really like this product.

6. The Saem Cover Perfection Tip Concealer

I'm currently using the Saem Cover Perfection Tip Concealer in the shade 1.5. It has a creamy consistency and it has a good coverage. It blends really easily and for me, the coverage lasts quite long. It is really affordable because most websites are selling this concealer for $5 and I've seen a hype for this product.

It has been my go-to concealer recently, and I would definitely recommend this product.

7. Purito Snail Clearing BB Cream

I really liked this BB cream because it really does what it claims. It was very hydrating and gave a fresh and natural dewy look. Although I said that it does not do much coverage for me, someone suggested using a beauty blender. Unfortunately, I do not own one yet. But, I really like the moderate coverage it has because it does not give an overly cakey look. It lasts for several hours, and I rarely have to touch up.

8. The Face Shop Gold Collagen Luxury Base

Initially, I took primer for granted. But, there was one day where I was too lazy to wear primer and when I went out, I realised that my pores were very visible and it disturbed me. The Face Shop Gold Collagen Luxury Base is a radiance boosting primer, that has anti-aging and moisturising properties.

I've used either this or the Etude House as my primer. But what I personally prefer about this is that it does not give my face a white cast. The Face Blur does whiten out my face because it is a light peach shade, which makes it obvious I'm wearing makeup if I were to use it alone. The Face Shop Gold Collagen Luxury Base is a translucent gel with small gold flakes that disappears upon application. It works equally as well as the Etude House Face Blur without leaving a white cast. Of course, if you want to brighten your skin tone with the primer, the Face Blur could work out better for you.

That's the end of my favourite makeup products in 2017, and I hope this was useful for you.
I hope you all have a great 2018. Till the next post :-)
