Etude House Dear Darling Water Gel Tint Review | PopsicleTint

The Etude House Dear Darling Water Gel Tint was released this year with a summer inspired popsicle design and it has been really popular. There were 6 shades available initially, but there have been 4 more shades introduced inspired by fall. The six summer shades available are RD306 Shark Red , RD307 Watermelon Red, OR205 Apricot Red, PK004 Red Bean Red, PK005 Oh Peach Red, PK006 Jewelry Red. In Singapore, it retails for $9.90 each.

Let's be honest here - most of us get it cause the packaging is super adorable, and I'm one of those people too. I'm a huge sucker for korean packaging and I think that this packaging is really good in drawing a lot of attention.Even the box it comes in is super adorable, I can't really bear to throw them away. But I do think that there is not much product in it because it comes in such a small packaging, but it should be sufficient to last for several months.

I've worn Shark Red and Apricot Red out so far and the rest I've just done swatches for this post.

Swatches

1. Shark Red:RD306
From the packaging itself, Shark Red has a very deep red, sort of burgundy. It does look deep red when swatched on the hand.

2.Watermelon Red: RD307
Watermelon Red is a brighter, slightly pinkish red compared to Shark Red. It would create a nice gradient look together with Shark red, if you're going for a red lip look.

3.Apricot Red: OR205
This shade is more towards an orange-red kind of shade. It is definitely quite sheer and looks partially orangey-pink when blended out.

4.Red Bean Red: PK004
Red Bean red is a more subtle purple-red shade. On the applicator, it definitely looks purple.

5. Oh Peach Red: PK005
This shade is more of a pinkish-red and the color is really vibrant. Compared to the Watermelon Red, this shade is more towards a brighter pink.

6.Jewelry Red: PK006
Jewelry Red is more like an outer layer to apply for that extra gloss. It is almost translucent with a slight pink shimmery shade.

Review

I think that the colors are really pretty as well and so far my favourite has been Shark Red. All of them are quite sheer, but I usually like to create the gradient look with these.I usually apply the Apricot red around my lips and I use the shark red on the center. It has a glossy finish and a thin formula. Upon application, it's very smooth and easy to apply. Initially,it does feel hydrating because of the watery consistency.

I feel that although these are summer inspired, if you're looking for a fall kind of look the shades Red Bean Red and Shark Red would make a good combination. For a brighter summer inspired look, Oh Peach Red is definitely the brightest color to go for.

Applicator

However, after trying it out several times, I realise that it does dry out after awhile and my lips always become dry in about 1 hour. The color does not last and I had to keep reapplying, especially if I drank water or if I ate something.Would I buy it again? Most likely no unless I'm looking for a particular color from this series, or if they improved their formula.

Oh and also, when I first bought all 6, I noticed some of them were not entirely full. But, there is still quite a bit of product to last for a substantial amount of time.

That's the end of my review and till the next post :)
