Oriental Skincare That Your skin needs: Pyunkang Yul UP Collection Review| StyleKorean TMRM
Pyunkang Yul is a brand that is no stranger to the K-beauty community. I first heard of the brand from my favourite K-beauty reviewer, @meejmuse, who loved the products she used. After seeing reviews from her and numerous blog posts, it became my wishlist brand for the longest time. Needless to say, I hold high expectations for this brand.
About Pyungkang Yul
Developed by Pyunkang Oriental Medicine Clinic, Pyunkang Yul claims to revolutionise how you approach skincare. They promise the use of ingredients that are gentle and safe for the skin while excluding ingredients that are merely trendy.
The three products in my review are part of their UP line, a minimal ingredient list collection targeted towards increasing the skin's temperature to nourish and improve skin dullness. Pyunkang Yul recommends using the essence toner as the first step, followed by the moisture serum and lastly, the nutrition cream.
First Impression
I was amazed at the detail to packaging when the products arrived. The box was neatly wrapped up in a dark blue satin cloth, adding a luxurious touch. Though their packaging looks simple at first glance, I love the choice of blue as it stands out on any vanity desk or shelf.
Essence Toner
The name "essence toner" intrigued me, and I wondered if it combines the two steps of the Korean skincare routine.
This essence toner is one of the most popular products among their collection. Formulated with only 7 ingredients and 91.3% milk vecht root extract, this toner instantly hydrates and strengthens the skin. This is recommended for people with dry and tight skin, especially if you're constantly in a cold place.
Do I understand the hype about this toner after trying it out? Yes.
Its lightweight, watery consistency absorbs quickly and provides quick hydration to the skin. I'd recommend this toner for the seven-skin layer method, but sticking to one or two layers alone gives my skin the hydration it needs (I have combination skin, in case you're wondering). But of course, if you're a fan of the seven-skin method or if you have dry skin, this toner is perfect for that.

Moisture Serum
This moisture serum revitalises and delivers deep moisture to dull skin with 15 ingredients. Numerous reviews online rave about this serum, calling it the perfect solution for dry skin.
True to the reviews and claims by the brand, this serum is lightweight on the skin. Its consistency and color reminded me of melted vanilla ice cream, and it glides smoothly onto the skin, making application quick and easy. I'd recommend this if you're trying to achieve that healthy skin glow.

Nutrition Cream
From the name alone, this cream sounded very promising.
The first ingredient in the list is Astragalus Membranaceus Root Extract, a well-known ingredient in Chinese medicine. It slows down the breakdown of collagen and decreases melanin production. It also contains healing properties for the skin. It also contains ingredients like shea butter and macadamia.
I fell in love with this cream as quickly as I did with its name. At first, it has a thick consistency but upon application it has a slight satin feel that melts gently onto the skin, without feeling too heavy or clogging. Each application is just delightful.

Overall
All three products are free from fragrance and are gentle to the skin.
While each product worked well on its own, I find that they work even better when combined. I'd recommend using the toner and serum in the day and using all three at night. But, this is just my personal recommendation of usage based on my skin. The toner and serum complement each other well, where one delivers hydration to the skin while the other moisturises. But, the nutrition cream seals the deal.
