Medicube Blue Erasing Cream Review

For the longest time, Medicube was one of my wishlist brands I wanted to try out. Since I finally decided to try stuff out from my wishlist brands, I didn't hesitate to get this.

I constantly saw progress posts featuring the Red Line skincare series on Instagram and Youtube. I was always amazed at the transformation videos, which would make me go like "okay, take my money now". I stared at the Medicube aisle available at Guardian for a long time, just eyeing products I want to buy in the future and thinking about what I should buy now.
Medicube is well known for being suitable for acne-prone skin and sensitive skin. They have different skincare lines, like the red line, zero line and blue line, which targets specific skin problems. For example, the red line is for acne-prone skin, and the blue line is moisturizing and soothing. From what I found, the Red Line is their most popular skincare line.

What It Claims:
The Blue Line is a hydrating and moisturizing skincare line, that is safe for sensitive skin.

The Blue Erasing Cream is a skin-soothing moisture cream. It provides internal and external hydration with mild and EWG-safe ingredients. This cream contains ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid, Panthenol and Centella Asiatica. It has a low pH, and it is suitable for sensitive skin.

Thoughts:

So... One question that came to mind was "What is this supposed to erase?".

The product information available on their website does not state what the erasing effect is supposed to be, but I'm assuming it's supposed to erase dryness. Similarly, for the Red Erasing Cream, they didn't state what it was supposed to erase. From pictures, all I could deduce is that the Red Erasing Cream removes skin discolouration.

They recently changed the packaging. Initially, it came in a blue frosted tub that looked similar to Laneige Water Sleeping Mask.

The new packaging is a squeezy tube which is similar to the Red Erasing Cream, which I Iike. It's clean, simple and easy to bring around. Plus, I feel like products with blue and white packaging always look like they're going be better for my skin (e.g. the Soon Jung and Dr Belmeur skincare lines). Side note: This proves why I think packaging plays a crucial part in selling a product lol.

It has a citrus scent to it that's noticeable only when I'm applying it. I wasn't expecting it to have a citrus scent or any scent as a matter of fact.

The texture itself feels a little bit more gel-like, which is not heavy on the skin at all. It is not oily, which is a good thing, especially if you're planning to use this during the day. It is not sticky, and there's no tacky feeling to it.

For me, this cream absorbed really quickly, and my skin felt super soft afterwards. There's no white cast or anything, and that is also another reason why I think this would be great as a daytime moisturizer as well. Plus, I like how it does not feel like its clogging up my pores.
I got this cream from their Christmas gift sets, which was on offer for $34.35 (quite a steal, right?). But afterwards, I found out that it was selling for a lower price on Guardian's website and I was honestly like "WHY?!".

On Guardian's website, the set was selling for precisely 50% off. But anyway, I did get it at quite a good offer. (On a side note, I eventually bought another box at $26 during the Guardian Beauty Days sale). I got another box because I was thinking to myself that I wouldn't spend $40 on another bottle once I've finished it.

I do like this cream, but there are a few cons to it.

Firstly, obviously the price. If you're interested in trying out this cream, you might want to find a more affordable option through online retailers.

Secondly, for me, this is okay when it comes to hydrating the skin. I don't have dry skin, and I think that this product is just alright for my combination skin. For people with dry skin, this might not be enough.

Overall:
This it doesn't break me out, and I love the way it feels on my skin. Typically, I'll apply this in the morning before applying sunscreen and at night before I go to sleep. It is easy to bring around since it's in a tube, unlike its previous packaging.

Anyways, I hope this was useful.

That's all for today's post.
