Innisfree Mineral Make Up Base SPF30/PA++ (Vanilla Green) Review

When I started using makeup, one thing that really bothered me was the red areas I had on my face. So, I recently bought this Innisfree Mineral Make Up Base SPF30/PA++ in the shade 2, which is the green makeup base in order to help me with this issue. It was the first thing that crossed my mind when I walked into the shop because I really wanted to color correct the red areas on my face.

Currently, there are three make up base available in Innisfree, where the three shades are Vanilla Peach, Vanilla Green and Vanilla Purple. On the Innisfree website, they describe it as a makeup base for a clear, smooth and bright skin. Peach is used to correct dark spots like dark circles, while green is used to cancel out redness and Purple is used to cancel out yellow, dark circles and also brighten the skin tone.

Each product is SGD$20 and it contains 40ml of product in each tube. I personally do think that it is a little pricey as online shops do sell the similar products from other brands at a lower price. But since I was already in the shop, I decided to get it anyways.

First thing I noticed, it was a very pastel green shade. The plastic tube that it came in was also in a similar shade and it was definitely the same shade as shown on the Innisfree website. 

It does brighten up my skin, but I would honestly say that it did not cancel out the redness as well as I wanted it to. It leaves a slight white cast for me and applying too much would definitely make my face look super pale and white. For me, a little goes a long way with this product, because applying too much would leave an obvious white cast, which I don't really like.

It was not drying at all, which is a good thing. It was pretty easy to blend but I could still see the red spots after applying a concealer above it. Honestly, after applying this and a concealer or a BB Cream, my skin would mostly be oily and quite shiny until I add on the Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder. It does not have a very lightweight feeling and to me, it does leave a slight tackiness after I have applied it. There is a very subtle scent to it but the scent does disappear after awhile.


Overall Summary:
Would I repurchase it? Most likely no because I'm sure there are other affordable green makeup bases that can provide better coverage. Especially for the price, I don't really think that this product is worth it.
